your blueprint for the perfect spa night

If you’re anything like me, more often than not we end up squeezing our self care moments in wherever we can fit them in. A spritz of Face Refresh on the way out of the door, a swipe of Coffee Under Eye Serum roller in the morning, a quick exfoliation with body polish in the shower, a couple sprays of Everything Mist on your pillow before bed. Listen, all of that is important too! Arguably the most important.

But sometimes, you might find yourself with a half hour to yourself and be in the mood for a spa night.

Although these days I don’t do this as often as I’d like, when I do I am reminded over and over again that intentionally creating that time to take care of and do something nice for myself / my body has a meaningful impact on my overall physical, emotional and mental well being.

So I want to share with you my favorite routine, and the origin of the Blueprint Box. Everything you need - your perfect blueprint -  for the ultimate at home spa night. I’m going to include the full routine but if you don’t have those products, you can just skip those steps and it will still be amazing. Use what you have!

First, it’s important to get the vibe right. This is a critical step! Grab your beverage of choice, light a candle, get some relaxing music playing, and spray Everything Mist on your towels and/or robe. Scoop out some Body Polish into a small bowl and place close to the bath tub.

Step 1: Botanical Face Steam

Grab a bowl, a small towel, and get some hot water going. I like to use a tea kettle. Pour some botanicals into the bowl and once the water is hot, pour it over the botanicals and find somewhere to sit for a few minutes. The water will cause the botanicals to bloom and release their properties through the steam. Position your face over the bowl and use the towel as a tent. Soak in the magic for 5-15 minutes.

Step 2: Clay Mask or Face Polish

Pour  2-3 scoops of clay into a small dish or bowl.  Mix a tiny bit of water with  the clay, and I mean a tiny bit! Start with just a few drops, then mix that in real good, then add a few more drops, etc, until you get the right consistency, which should be a creamy paste. Mix it thoroughly and add more water as needed. You can then use this mixture two different ways. (But if we’re going for the full spa experience, the mask  option is a must).

To use as a Face Polish, use your fingers and gently massage the mixture onto your face and neck. Rinse thoroughly, pat dry and follow with Face Refresh and Face Serum, or Face Butter.

To use as a Clay Mask, use your fingers or a clean makeup brush to apply the mask evenly onto your face and neck. Set a timer for 5 minutes. If you have sensitive skin, set a timer for 2 minutes.

Tip: apply your clay mask before getting into the shower or bath, then rinse it off while in the tub.

Otherwise, wipe gently with wet cloth, avoiding your eyes, until all clay is removed.

Step 3: Bath Soak or Bath & Body Melts

Drop in a Bath & Body Melt, or pour some Bath Soak into the tub. If you still have your clay mask on, rinse it off when it’s time using the running water and a washcloth If not, simply soak and let your body enjoy the experience.

Step 4: Body Polish

While soaking, or in the shower if you don’t have a bath tub, massage a small amount of the Body Polish from the bowl you’ve brought in onto all parts of your body. I like to start with my chest and arms, including underarms, then move down to my stomach, sides, back, hips down to my legs and feet, spending extra time on my elbows and feet. Spend a decent amount of time on this step, really taking your time with each area of your body. Rinse gently.

Step 5: Face Refresh

After the bath or shower, the first thing you want to do is spray your face liberally with Face Refresh. I like to go a little extra here and spray my neck and arms too.

Step 6: Face Serum or Face Butter (or both!)

You can use one or the other, but I love to use both. If you use both, make sure to use the Face Butter (or Overnight Face Cream) first so it can soak into and hydrate your skin, then Face Serum after to seal it in. If you’re using Overnight Face Cream, apply it liberally by patting it onto your face so it can soak in and absorb overnight.

Body Butter, Goddess Oil or Cashmere Body Creme (or all 3!)

Massage Body Butter, Goddess Oil, or Cashmere Body Creme onto your whole body. I love a variety, so I use all 3. There are no rules here, but what I like to do is rub a little Body Butter and Goddess Oil together in my palms and use that all over, then do a little Cashmere Body Creme on my chest, arms and hands. But seriously, no rules. Just make sure to wait a few minutes before getting dressed to let it all absorb into your skin fully.

Seal it all in with another few spritzes of Face Refresh, spray yourself down with Everything MIst, and make sure to spend a few minutes to appreciate that you’ve taken this time to do something nice for yourself and your body - you are more than worth every second.
